B Grade v Bacchus Marsh
Marsh won the toss and again we were put into bat. This worked well for Marsh for a couple of wickets, but eventually we consolidated . Josh Smith and Rick batted well together to get us to tea with a reasonable total. We let Marsh off the hook really in our middle order, loosing 5 for 12. Rick ended up on 28 and Cam McRorie 44 but the stand out was Josh with a well made 112.
We came back the next week and really never looked in the hunt. Marsh got off to a flyer with the bat chancing their arm and it paying off. We bowled OK but again let them off the hook bowling too many wides and no balls. They passed us 6 down.
Man of the match: Josh Smith
Complete Health Care Award: Jarrod Potter
D Grade v Wallan
We won the toss and bowled but got off to a slow start. We soon got into our groove after a stern word or two. We ended up bowling them out for 128, with Boyes and Jacko taking 4 wickets each. Everybody bowled well and the fielding wasn't too bad either. We had afternoon tea which was great as it always is. We came out to bat and fell to pieces, losing wicket after wicket. At stumps on Day 1 we were 6/76 with Anderson on 37 and Jacko not facing a ball.
We came out on Day 2 needing 53 to win. We passed them without losing anymore wickets and then the fun began with Anderson going nuts hitting the ball to all parts of the field. Anderson made his maiden ton and wasn't done there. Anderson and Jacko put on 173 for the 7th wicket with Redda going out on 153, thaen Jacko fell not too long after with a well batted 42. We eventually declared at 8/255.
It was a great win by the boys.
Man of the match: Jackson Young
Complete Health Care Award: Matt Anderson
F Grade v East Sunbury
F Grade had the rare privilege of playing at Royal Bulla, being hosted by East Sunbury. Hoss won the toss for the 2nd time this year and we decided to bowl first. We got off to a pretty good start having them 3/44 but then they started getting a few partnerships going and some late hitting getting them to 9/317 which on a fast Bulla was above par.
Of the bowlers who got a wicket Bob 1/45 from 12, Cobbie 1/74 from 11 Jordan (The River) Tentonello 1/13 and Mabo 6/87 from 24 overs
On day 2 we got off to a flying start with Richo crunching 5 fours in a couple of overs but fell cheaply for 22, Hoss then joined our new opener for the week Bob and they got us to 58 with Bob out for a very patient 16. Lairdy in his 1st game back joined Hoss and got us to tea with Cam out just after tea for 34. Brenton then formed a bit of a partnership with Hoss getting us to 157, with Brenton going out for not many. Young Furnie joined Hoss and they got us to 200 when Hoss was finally out for 63, Furnie fell shortly after for 28. Mabo towards the end started swinging and made 31. In the end we were bowled out for 238.
Overall not a bad loss with a couple of guys getting starts and if a couple of the top order went on with it and converted their starts it might have been a different result.
