D Grade v Blackwood
We lost the toss and bowled, but we didn't have a new ball to use but luckily Blackwood gave us one. We bowled really well on a ground that makes Bulla look big. Boyesy got 2 early wickets and Waxo was stiff at the other end. We continued to get wickets at the right time which hampered them. We finished up taking 8/146 off the 40 overs. Boyesy 2 wickets, Waxo 1, Tyson 2 and all bowled well. Kyle bowled well at the death with Porno the pick of the bowlers missing the edge about a dozen times. but taking a few wickets. It was Redda who excelled in the field with a diving 1 handed catch and the best run out you will ever see.
We came out to bat and lost Redda early with concussion after a top edge to the head. We got through it with Aaron and Zach both getting starts but falling short. Porno and Cam put on over 50 run stand to push the score to 3/116. Then we fell apart with Porno, Cam, Linton and Tyson falling very quickly to be 7/123 before Redda returned to the crease and with Boyesy steadied the ship and finished it off making 7/150 with 2 overs to spare. It was a great performance by the guys with Porno 55 and Cam 33 being the pick of the batsmen. Also good to see we have batted our 40 overs in each of the first 4 games.

F Grade v Romsey
F Grade hosted Romsey and after losing the toss yet again we were invited to bat. We opened up with a new combination with Jason Roberts joining Tremor at the top. We got off to a good start losing our 1st wicket at 53 with Mark out for a hard hitting 41. Trent was next in and couldn’t back up from his innings last round out for 1. The skipper joined Jason who got us to 73 with Jason out for 18. Knottie came in then was out straight away. Dig Allen joined Hoss and they took us to 112 with Dig out for 20. It was then left to Mabo and Hoss to see us out to the end of our 35 overs with Hoss undefeated 41 and Mabo a very entertaining 20. We finished up being 5/154 which with our bowling line we believed we could defend.
After tea we opened up with our usual combination of Knottie and Powelly. Knottie bowled extremely well to finish up with 2/15 off 7, Powelly extremely poor (some would say S**T) 0/10 off 1. For some reason most of the bowlers decided to follow Powelly's lead and bowled poorly which wasn’t helped by sloppy ground fielding. Of the bowlers to follow this lead Bob in his return to F grade 0/13 off 3, Trent 0/19 off 2 James Lukey 0/17 off 2, Dig 1/38 off 7 and Mabo 1/30 off 6 (admittedly the last two guys it was more of a reflection of the sloppy fielding more than their bowling). The only bowler who followed Knotties lead was Cobbie who finished 0/15 off 4 with this figures not showing how well he bowled two edges in a row missing hands in the slips which went for 4.
In the end Romsey passed us 4 down in the 32nd over but we weren’t really in the game. A massive game next week against the current F grade premiers with the winner becoming one game clear in the 4 which means we need to step up

G Grade v Macedon
We won the toss an sent them in on a good day for cricket. Geoff Furnell started the ball rolling clean bowling the opener with a great in swinging yorker. He took regular wickets to finish with 4/24! Zac Forster was a welcome addition and his pace had the batsmen jumping, he bowled well to take 2/9.
James Brown and Austin Young are getting better each week with James dismissing their captain who was looking dangerous ( 1/25) and Austin striking twice to finish with 2/7!
Tim Attard took 2 catches and kept very well, Woodend all out 96.
The younger players took the reigns with the bat with Tim Attard and Austin Young starting off, Jordan Tontenello and Ethan Fisher to follow. All showed promise with some good shots but got out to shots that they will learn from.
The “Run Machine” Daniel Furnell went cheaply and we were 5/40. Harrison Knott and myself put on 64 which shut the game down. Harrison batted well and finished 20 not out.
